My contract was up on my phone service, so they gave me a good deal on a new one.
I got one that is water resistant, dust resistant, takes pictures, and more important, takes videos. So instead of having a phone in one pocket and a camcorder in the other, I got it all in one device. I can't wait to try a fishing clip. Right now, I have to do hunting clips.
I reckon I could have got a Blackberry, surfed the Web and posted messages on Crappie.com , and do live streaming videos of me crappie fishing. It is amazing the technology that is availible these days
I might add that mine does GPS also but I don't think it would saved Birdy's brush piles location for me. :D:D:D
water resistant is good except for when you drop them in the lake and then watch them go down on your side imagerbuy the insurance

I got a blackberry... it is insured and double ziplocked with flotation when in boat!
most all phones come with video, gps, and pictures now days... mine has them all. And, yes mine has insurance as 4 or 5 of them have been donated to the different lakes, ponds, and rivers around here![]()

Well, Birdy, if your phone has video option, the question has to be, why are you not posting video clips instead of pictures? A lot of your pictures look the same. No offence, but posting video clips would be a big improvement.
I priced the insurance against the price of a new phone. The insurance was half of the price of the phone over 2 years. I may regret not getting the insurance, I may not. It is taking a chance.
I have carried my phone and my pocket camcorder in plastic bags for years. The cell phone was a BIG help when I broke my leg out coon hunting alone one night a few years ago.
They said I could hold my phone under water and take videos. I won't try that but I hunt and fish in the rain all of the time. I will be experimenting with the video clips the next few days.
The local phone store owner wants to go crappie fishing with me next Spring. He owns several phone stores in this part of the state. I reckon I will have to take a video on the phone of him catching a crappie over one of Birdy's brush piles. LOL
My phone is a Motorola Barrage. It just came out.
Well Redtick, No offense to you either...but I could really kinda care less if my pictures look the same or not. Maybe its because im always catching good fish?! Whats the point in taking a video when id rather be fishing anyways? And if memory serves me correct, none of your videos are of you fishing, but instead, look all the same as well with just different dates in the caption of the fish laying on this tarp before you release them back in the lake with half of their slime gone!
Fish the brush piles alllll ya want. There is plenty to go around. And why do you think every brush pile is "my" brushpile?!

That seemed like a little bit of a dig on Birdmans pictures.
Not really. I am just trying to enlighten Birdy to what is happening these days. His father taught him how to fish real well, I am just trying to teach him how to use his fishing skills to his best advantage in the future. All of the young dudes are posting video clips on YouTube these days. It is the future. You are a student, try to learn something new.
Are you saying you can't record your dad or your girlfriend catching crappie? Come on Birdy, let's see some video.
I will say at one time I was considering trying to become an instructor at Lakeland. Not an audio/video instructor, an Alternative Energy instructor.
As for any brushpile or any other structure on any area lake, I have Side Imaging, I can find them.
I know for a fact, that tyler or his dad can put fish in the boat when others are struggling. I don't need to see a cheesey video to impress me.
It wouldn't be so dayum hard. If I didn't know what I'm missing. Sometimes I give in, and start all over again. Keepin up with the Jonesin.
I am not denying anyone's fishing skills. Tyler mentioned that some day he might might want to be a guide. LSG does videos, that is for sure. I reckon I need to let him learn the slow way and I will keep my nose in my own buisness.
I meant no disrespect to anyone's ability. Trust me, in the next few years, posting fishing videos on the internet will become common and lots of folks will be doing it.
I catch crappie everytime I fish for them, sometimes I catch lots of crappie. I am not or will ever be a guide.
Nuff said.
