I had a couple of fellas send me PMs this week after watching the video I did at Crab and ask how I tied more than one jig on a single line. I started to write back and explain it in words..but it sounded confusing so I just shot a short video. I know several of you already know how to do this but I know for those who dont it can be a big help to have someone show them. This is not the only way to do it im sure...but its what works for me. So here goes:
YouTube - Crappie Fishing...How to tie multiple jigs on one line.

Very interesting. Thanks for the info. I also was fishing the double rig, but would tie the upper jig a little different. Your way seems a little easier. Great video CP. You are doing GREAT with the camera. I was kicking around the idea of filming and trying to post it. I keep waiting for you to show your face in one of these posts so I can identify you at the ramp or on the water. Sounds like we were right next to each other a couple of weeks ago at Greenbriar but did not know each other. Anyway.....great video....keep em coming!

Great vidio--looks easy to tie

Great job with the video CP. Thanks for the additional information too. I'll be trying your loop knot tomorrow, I think the knot I have been using for the upper jig was not as strong and might allow easier line breakage and I agree with DKB, your knot looks easier to use. The knot I was using also kept the jig at the main line, not removed by an inch or two like yours. This, I'm sure would account for the little to no action on the upper jig.
Keep up the good work.
Im glad u guys are gonna try it. Floater...you almost always catch more fish on that bottom one. But its the one thats closest to your structure when its down there so I think thats why. Theres an interesting observation Ive made though. Many Many times late in the afternoon when the sun is going down or its near dusk I have had instances where I have caught every fish on the top one after going all day and catching hardly any on it. Im guessing because the fish are moving higher off the structure as the sun gets out of the sky.
Thanks CP, reading how to is on thing, seeing how to makes a clearer picture

Thanks for the video CP. I just went to the garage and got some line and jigs to practice. I hoping this will be stronger than what I have used in the past to fish 2 baits. I quit doing this as the loop I used just weakened the line too much. We have a new lake in the area that does not allow minnows. Any preference to line test or type? Also, what was the water temp. in your video?
Carp--I use double rigs a lot..how do you keep your line on the top hook from tangling..i seem to have a heck of a time with tangling..are your jigs different wieghts?

Banjo...the water temp that day was 56-57 degrees. I think you can see the temp on my humminbird on the upper left under the depth if you look closely. I use 6lb line only...either stren or trilene...i dont have a favorite. I met Wally Marshall and he talked me into trying Mr. Crappie line...and its been ok too....but 6 outfishes 8 every time in my experiences. Humphre..surprsingly I dont have tangle issues. I always wander why I dont. It may be the design of the jigs I use...i dont know. Rarely Ill have the top jig hang up funny in the loop but its not often. You can feel a heaviness to the jigs when this happens so I just lift up and shake it a little bit and it usually comes out. It may happen once or twice all day though so no biggie.
This is the same rig that I use for white bass fishing. The only difference is that you use a crankbait on the bottom to get the set up to dive deeper while trolling. Nothing like two whites on the line at the same time.....WOW. I have not caught two crappie at the same time fishing like this but I bet it would be a fight also.
