Amen to that! I'll second you on that CX!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
you can catch theme all year
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
When you stop eating so do they. In other words like CX said they bite year round and every day some days are just a little easier to catch them.
Thanks all
that was a stupid question.its my 1st. yr. crappie fishing & stuck shore fishing so i have to cast as far out as i can to catch'em & sometimes that's not far enough.
will they go deeper with the colder weather? have'nt got anything shallow yet.

No question is a stupid question as long as you are learning. Keep asking. There are plenty of good fisherman on this sight. This is a great way to bounce stuff off of people that will give you a honest answer.

Dkb is right...no such thing as a dumb question....i asked some of the all time dumbest when i started and not once did someone laugh at me...crappie fishermen are a good breed like that. In answer to your question...u can catch them as long as you can stand to be out there. Being a bank fisherman would tend to lean you more toward spring though...find banks with trees laying down or wood in any form close to the bank from April through early June...get a bucket of minnows and rig up with a bobber, shot, and hook, and fish a couple of feet deep around the wood....and you will get your share.
I was not tryin to sound like a smarty with my answer. Thats how I fish and I fish all year. Sorry if it came out that way. But there are some times of the year that are better than most.
