    Default Shelbyville

A friend and myself are planning on coming down to Shelbyville on Tues. Weds. and Thurs. It has been a long time since I have fished shelbyville and have never fished it this time of year! Just looking for some ideas nobody has to give up their HOT spots If anyone could give me some ideas it would be much appreciated. Is the lake up now or normal pool? Thanks in advance!! Ohail..........

    Default Shelbyville

Right now the lake is up and is almsot 6 feet above normal summer pool. If you'll check out posts by LakeShelbyvilleGuide (Steve Welch) he is on teh water every day and even though he doesn't give out GPS co-ordinates of honey holes he does give out some pretty good ideas of where to search. There is crappie tournament on the lake today (Springfield Crappie Club) and maybe somebody will post some results later today or tomorrow.

As example of weather conditions at 11 AM Sat. Temp 71 degrees, Winds out of the west at 17mph with gust to 22 mph. Skies are clear with bright sunshine.

When I was out last week water temp was in the mid 50's.

Have a great time and leave a few for me. I hope to get out some this coming week if weather holds like it is forecast.

    Default Launch

As far as where to launch it sort of depends on where you are staying and wht part of the lake you plan to fish. The two state parks (Eagle Creek and Wolf Creek) boat ramps which are located about mid-lake on either side of the lake do not have a launch fee. Last week Bo Woods ramp was still closed as they are resurfacing the parking lot, so that will probably not be an option. I believe all the other ramps are open.

As Of Sat. Bo Woods Is Open. The Tournament Was Won By Lsg And Bob Dody. Fish Were Caught At Various Depths. From 6 Foot To 25 Foot. Just Make Sure You Are Fishing Structure. Many Teams Caught Their Limits With Just Jigs, While Some Used Minnows. Winning Weight Was Around 7 1/2 Lbs. And Big Fish Was 1.45 Lb. Most Of The Lake Has Cleared Up So It Won't Make Much Difference Where You Launch. I Think Wilborn Is Still Closed But Should Be Open For The Weekend Bethany Tournament.

Thanks guys! It looks like there are no set patterns just structure..I'm not sure where we are going to stay.Somewhere fisherman friendly! Any suggestions? I have put in at Bo-Woods before. But not sure if that is where i need to be. I have a small motor so its easier to trailer than run the lake. Thanks for all the input looks like this will be my last outing for the year. I usually fish mark twain and it has been tuff just about all year. Thanks Again!! David
