can't catch'em at home

Brian...in general I always have advised people that the farther east you go the more carp you find and the less crappie you catch. There is a certain popularity to bank fishermen as far as the Wolf Creek Bridge...but beyond that it becomes a different and less desirable lake for crappie. Grassy Bay itself has several areas that hold crappie. Most of the better spots are in the first half of it when you enter and are represented by isolate huge stumps that dot the middle of the bay. The back half gets real shallow and only holds fish in the spawning season. That same back half is legendary for bass fishing though....if thats your thing. Right now you need to focus on the main lake though. Brush piles off points...drops...the ledges in the snake island area...etc, etc, will now hold the bulk of the fish until its time to spawn again.

Dilgaf, I really enjoyed your video clip. Did I see a microphone receiver on the back of your belt? Obviously, you used some sophisticated electronics, some great editing software, and I really liked the website you posted your video on, it was new to me. I added it to my favorites and may post some video clips on it if possible.
Most of us will not be able to do as near as sophisticated presentation, (I may have the skill but not the desire), but I think it will be interesting to see some of the variety of videos some of us can come up with. My personal approach will be at more of a entry level approach and I will be using common camcorders, Movie Maker editing software (available on most computers), and popular video hosting sites like YouTube and PhotoBucket. Some of the guys going to schools like EIU and Lakeland may want to use your more sophisticated technique, especially if they are going to be graded on it by media teachers at those schools. They may have access to better equipment through those schools.
I post on other hunting and fishing websites and have started guys on posting video clips on those sites. We get a variety of videos. I think others may want to try it, it is fun. It is amazing what can be done on the Internet these days.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Those are some great videos. From the looks of it. If you plan to video yourself fishing you better try it on a calm day. I think a windy day would be too much to handle. Dilligarf... That is some high quality video nicely done. I noticed the picture on the vimeo website of the upland bird dog. I am going out with my two German short hairs this weekend for some pheasants at Carlye Lake. I hope to bag some birds.
Thanks for the videos they are really nice
