nice videoand I learned a few things..
"Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits." - Thomas Jefferson
Nice video clip. What kind of camcorder did you use?
I am thinking about buying a special mount for my boat, mounting a tri-pod in my boat, or buying a hat mount camcorder. Maybe, all 3. I have posted some video I did with LSG but I usually fish alone, so I would need to do something similar to your video.
Once you have the video recording, editing and posting on YouTube or PhotoBucket is very easy.
Hey, Birdy, you need to do a video. Some of you other guys should start carrying a camcorder. We could all learn.
nice video
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Im thinking now maybe I can improve and do a better one down the road if people liked it. And maybe Ive struck up the idea of others doin one too. I did not use a camcorder. I just took my Canon Elf Digital Camera thats 3 years old with me and shot the video with it. Had a 4 gig memory card in it which is plenty. I made the movie with "micorsoft movie maker" which was a standard program that came on my Dell computer. I edited out several other fish that were dinks to make a nice 7 minute clip of the more decent fish. I agree it would be great to see some others do a few of these as well....like at shelbyville...or Mattoon....or Rend...or wherever. Whatever tips someone wants to offer on their video they can or they can just catch fish. Im not a real big talker because I dont wanna sound like one of those obnoxcious know it all's because Im laid back and quiet by nature...but i wouldnt mind hearing others at all. Just some thoughts.
Watched video several times since you posted. You actually kept the camera unbelievably still for not using a tri pod. This is a great video. Please keep making more. How hard is it to post video's to the forum/you tube?
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
Very impressive! Really enjoyed the video

I probably come off as a "know it all" but I do a lot of video posting on the internet. In fact, I carry a camcorder in my shirt pocket most of the time when I am hunting. I have a small AIPTEC camcorder/still picture recorder I bought at Sears for around $100. It has taken a lot of abuse in the last year and a half and still works. I plan on buying a Sony hard drive HiDef camcorder in the next few days. For less than $400, someone can buy a state of the art camcorder. I highly reccomend a tri-pod.
If you guys can stand me, I will help anyone that wants to do some recording and posting on the internet, even Birdy. Anyone that can post a picture can post a video clip. It is a simple procedure.
Here is a video clip I made last Spring. It shows my buddy catching an off species (for this board). You can see, we are not very sophisticated, he spits tobacco juice on his bait before casting out.
You can see the same fellow in a lot of hunting videos I make. We do have some fun hunting and fishing but Birdy may have me beat when it comes to fishing buddies.
Carpoop,
Great job with the video. I'm amazed that you could land those fish with 1 hand and hold that camera still enough to make the video. I think I would have put down the camera to land the big fish in the video.
The weather looks really good so I'm planning on fishing this weekend. I'll be in a 21 ft white with green strip triton f/s. If you happen to be on the water and see a boat like that stop and say hi, I like to meet you.
I really started fishing crab last year. I have never went west of grassy bay, we've always stayed within view of the spillway. Is the fishing any good east of grassy bay?
Again great job with the video and thank for all your updates. My fishing buddy and I are always looking for your posts to stay up to date.

there is a real cheap mount/tripod that bushnell makes for spotting scopes to mount on a truck window ... you can clamp it it lots of places on a boat
nice video you shot
here is a link to one I shot earlier this summer trying out new camera mounts, didn't find many fish, but shot and edited by myself just to prove I could
