What a fantastic day to be outdoors. Fish bit fairly well today. Keeper fish were below the little ones...no shallower than 8 feet and some nearly 10. Biggest fish today was a really pretty 13.5 incher that may have been a black crappie....im not sure. Ill post a pic of it. It was overly tall and had more black in it than im used to seeing. Im not an expert at telling the difference...i just catch em and throw em in the cooler. Sure was pretty. Hope everyone got out and caught them today!
Great catch! Makes me really hungry!
very nice lookin fish CP. The first two pictures look like a black. Last picture is definitely a white

Great looking catch!! I knew yesterday was a good day to fish.....aren't most days? I installed the new transducer over the weekend and re-wired the system, too much interference and bad display info. I really don't think Crab Orchard has 65-75 feet of water, anywhere.
So, I'll be back to perfecting my crappie technique Monday morning.
Once again, great looking catch!
CP - I am counting at least seven dorsal spines in that second pic which would make it a black and only 6 spines in the third pic which would make it a white.

Once again. Nice catch CP!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
Good looking mess of fish CP!![]()
nice catch
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
I guess it is a black then. Ill tell you what..it was a dandly fish. Im not sure the picture does it justice. But i think the pic does show how tall it was. Much rounder. I just dont catch many on Crab like this that are black crappie. Thanks for the help with identifying it for me.
