Thread: Deer Meat

Hi,

Does anyone know were I can buy deer meat?...Or does anyone have some for sale?...I am not into hunting..But, would love to have some meat..

Also, wouldn't purchasing some fish fillets...Crappie, Bluegill, Catfish, or Bass...I haven't been able to do as much as I wanted to this year...

can't sell it in Illinois if I remember right... you can in Mi though I think, don't know about down south...

On another forum, I had a guy that would give me one every year either field dressed or quartered... just told guys on there that if they were thinking about shooting but didn't know what to do with the meat, I would come get it and me and my family would put it to good use - gotta be ready and able to drive and get it when they they got it though...

Yeah, I just read that online...That sort of sucks...Well, I have some buddies who hunt..So, should be ok..

Check with your local packing house sometimes they have people that get deer processed but dont pick it up.

Where about you live my buddy and I give about 5 a year away. I'm in central I'll pm me if you are interested still.

Let me know where you are at, I give away several a year as well.

I have only had deer steak like once in my lifetime and it was a long time ago...Has does deer steak etc?...I guess it sort depends on who proccesses it etc? ..Also what other kind of cuts kind the proccessor make out of deer meat?

Cubed, canned, ground, and jerky. Some like cuts as roasts, but I'll stick with the 4 previously named.

I make my brats, meat sticks and salamis too! As far as grind most like it with a little beef tallow in there - best if cut from T-bones!

Now I just need to see one before I can shoot one... the honey hole I hunted last year got sold! bummer, but I may have secured a new spot yesterday...
