    Default Shelbyville Today

Got my first six nice fish in three feet and got several shorts then that pattern just went sour. Headed over to Wilborn to run the spots that I got some big fish on Sunday not even a bite. Now it is noon and I only have eight over ten and most of our shorts. Told the clients get ready for a boat ride as we are going south. Motored down to a cove that I have been getting a bunch of blacks in and in two hours we got 22 overs and called it a day. 14-22 feet deep on laydowns brown and chartreuse with a red Bighead jig. Cleaned 43 for my self and the two clients.

The shallw bite is here one day gone the next but the deep bite has been consistant so I have put away the cork poles for now.

I have been doing better on cloudy, windy days when you don't really want to be out. Nice sunny days haven't produced except for in deep water. Anybody else finding this pattern?

I could only manage 8 over 10 and 5 unders myself Tuesday . Shorts were not a problem . I would catch 1 or 2 fish from a spot and then they would just stop biting . My overs were all nice with 4 of them being 12 or a little over . Steve when I seen you in the cove across from No Name I only manage 2 keepers there and 3 or 4 shorts . I was in the blue and gold Fisher boat . I always have better luck there but not today . Any way it wasn't that bad for the first time on the water in a couple of months . The fish I was catching were in 1 to 8 foot of water and my best color was 2 inch Kalin grubs yellow and white .

    See ya Kevin ><)))*>

Kevin I knew that was you. I got a couple of keepers just the next tree back from you. Like you I usually do better in there. The mouth of Whitley is good as is Kaskaskia might try there before duck season comes in.

Took 2 people out today on a guide trip I guess I could say. We did alright. They wanted to fish the harbour and we ended up with 15 overs and 15 unders. We lost some real nice ones at the boat. We caught most of ours real shallow 2ft or less.

Steve-mouth of whitley you say?! Wonder if there is any brush right there at the mouth and around there? Think some1 put it in there???? Iv cought some dandys there the last several years...

Sounds like everyone is doing good to me. I would like to make a trip up there before it gets too cold.
