Kincade - I fish there once or twice a year and have for many years with my old college roommate who lives in Pittsfield. We always catch a lot of dinks and every now and then we will get a decent fish (over 10 inches). I am amazed that many of the locals will take home a bucket of 7 to 8 inch fish. The lake does have some decent walleye and stripers, but I think most of them are caught by accident by fishermen fishing for other species. Most of the time when I visit him we fish local farm ponds and several of them hold some 9 to 10 inch bluegill and real nice bass. I would not drive very far to fish Lake Pittsfield for crappie.

I've been wanting to head over to Pittsfield Lake for some of the walleye fishing. I hear it's one of the most underutilized lakes for walleye in the state. Sadly I'm still waiting for a part for my boat motor so I can't get out and fish.![]()
natedog, what part are you waiting for? or do you need?
Waiting on a starter solenoid. Had to wait a little bit to get one, then they sent the wrong one.The correct one is suppose to be here on Friday, so I'm hoping I can get out next week.
It's a nice lake. Decent amount of fall down and submerged cover, but the fish just were not there. Bass were biting fairly good.
