Got a bit bored yesterday and despite the light rain all day, there was little or not wind and overcast and well..perfect fishing weather! So out I went to a local pond with a plastic worm on and a white spinner bait. This was my first time to the pond this year and I wasnt sure what it would look like forage wise...well shortly after arriving I loved the looks of it. Tons of little lilly pad like weeds all around the pond. Looked great and on my 5th or 6th cast I had a hit but missed em reeling it in...threw back out and this guy/girl slammed the ol plastic worm. Really fun battle on my ML action rod and 6lb test.
This is my best largie to date...24" long and 8lb 12oz on certified scales. Sure was a chunk! Released to get bigger... Sorry for posting a "off species"
