Crab Orchard 8-30-09

Great day to be on the water other than a pesky north wind. The fish continue to bite at about 8 feet over brush on minnows. The best bite is after 5PM until nearly dark. Threw back at least 100 fish. Went through 12 dozen minnows.....which is more like 16 dozen if Ron is in a good mood at Cookseys. I think I ended up with 27 that I kept...but did have some nice ones. Pic below if of 12.5, 13.5, 13.5 and 14.5. Been having some fish fries lately so been keeping the bigger fish which I didnt used to do much...but when hunger strikes....they are getting the knife. Hope everyone had a good day fishing.

Nice job! I was there yesterday an fished till about noon we ended up with a dozen keepers and about 40 short fish. What kind of boat do you have? Next time i'm there if I see ya I'd stop to shoot the bull.

xpress...i didnt get there until around 1:30. Im usually in a green 16ft. Fisher jon boat with a 25 Yamaha. I have a crappie.com sticker on the side as well. I have an X-19 silver and black Xpress I also use but honestly its easier to crappie fish out of the smaller boat so I take it most often. Im really struggling with catching very many until around 430. From 430 until dark it seems to be alot better where ive been catching. If you see me stop and shoot the breese. Im never in a hurry.
