Here is a mug shot of a crappie killer I caught the other day. He was hiding in a brush pile under a school of crappie waiting for one of them to make the wrong move. He weghed 13 pounds and was a lot of fun on a 10' crappie pole. I managed to get him in the deep water and just let him fight the pole for a good while.
He is small as compared to the flatheads I caught when I used to fish for flatheads 20 years ago. The biggest I caught was 60 pounds but they get bigger than that. This bad boy wouldn't have any problem having a 10" crappie for lunch. There could be some of his kin under a school of crappie or white bass where you fish, and, most likely, they are there.
This one looked like he would be more after those pesky bluegills or maybe some green carp than crappie, so I released him to let him grow.
There is a killer on the loose.
Very Cool. Thanks for the pic.
Good job, and a good looking fish, BUT your wife's gonna have your hide for putting him on her bedsheets :D :D
Good lookin fish Tick, I had a 5 pounder last year on a bnm I can't imagine one that big on a 10.
