Thread: Just an idea???

Was just wondering if some of you guys would be interested in putting on a weekly or a monthly crappie fish off in the evenings like they do for bass on rend. Just have a small entry fee like $20 or $30 dollars a boat and winner takes all or maybe pay out a couple places depending on the number of boats. Half of us are at rend fishing in the evening anyway. Might be worth checking into to see what we have to do if anyone is interested. We could fish from 4 or 5 to 8 or 8:30. Just a thought. Not enough crappie tourneys around here.

I would be in weekly or bi weekly what ever we could do. Heck we could do one once a month in the winter if we had enough interest. On the week end I mean for that weather permiting no ice. I think if there is enough interest should try to pay more than 1st place. And everboby should have to take and weigh in at the same palce by water no trailering boats anywhere unless some one is broke down. just my opion. hope we get some interest it would be fun there are alot of good crappie fishermen on rend lake

That Wednesday bass fish off (Rend) is about the most crooked event I have ever seen.

No boat search at launch site.

Fish tied to trees or all ready in the live well at launch.

Winner's buddies are fishin all day & giving Winner their fish, while out on the lake, to weigh in; Winner splits the pot w/ his buddies.

If it ain't fair, I won't be there.

I fished the Wend bass tourney 2 weeks ago and they searched our livewell, there are some very good honest people that win some of those that do not and would not CHEAT

A suggestion....take away the money and just give small trophies for 1st-3rd places and you'll have honest people that just love fishing in your tourneys. Money starts ruining tournaments as far as getting crooked people involved. Bragging rights is enough for alot of folks.

gone fishen I fish in some of those wednesday night tourneys. Are you calling me a cheater??? I have never and will never cheat and I have won more than one of them. They do check live well at launch. I am not saying there are not a few dishonest people that fish them but for the most part it is a good group of guys. And if someone is that desperate they have to cheat to win a couple hundred bucks they are very sad indeed.

Maybe SICA would be interested in putting on some fall tourneys?????
