Thread: any reports on Horseshoe in Granite city

Seems as though our resident reporter for Horseshoe disappeared??? Crappie Killer Jigs??? if you are out there pm me or ?? I think some of guys kind slammed Him??? All is in good spirts guys.. Come on back ???

I went down there last week bowfishing and there were only two other boats on the lake and they said they were not catching anything. There is only a small part of the lake that has any deep water so they shouldnt be to hard to locate. Dont know if this helps or not.

really only a small part of the lake has water??? I've only fished it early spring this year and it had a lot of water??? is this normal???

I fish Horseshoe when I can. I fish it out of a float tube. I was out there on 7/4. The place I started fishing only had yellow bass and a 3 lb channel cat. So I moved to a different location. After about 30 minutes of fishing I found them 11ft down in 13ft of water. I caught 5 or 6 One was 11" the rest were smaller. Then up comes the Conservation officer and told me I can't fish the Lake in my float tube and to get off the water right away. Man I don't get it!!!!! I can't believe there is a problem with fishing out of a float tube. I will have to hit my other location that I won't get kicked off the water. Oh well... I am headed to Montana at the end of the month for couple of weeks. I know I can fish out of the tube up there in the mountains. I will be breaking out the fly rod.

So, until I can get a boat I don't think I will be fishing Horseshoe much anymore. It is a good lake for crappie over on the West side of the lake near bend road.

I know "Crappie Killer" and I can't get in touch with him either. I wish he would come back to the forum. He has a lot of good information and has helped me find some fish since I moved to the area about 11 months ago. Since I don't have a boat he has even taken me fishing. Kieth we miss ya

Never heard of such!!! Never seen a reg on any of the lakes i fished that said ya can't fish in a float tube. I'd be checking into that!!

went by the lake this morning in the rain doesn't look all that low.. only a few fisherman on the bank. looks to be about a foot lower than in april??? What was the conversation guys name... As One comes by my cabin and is a good as gold never had any problems with Shoemaker??
