For the last couple of weeks I have caught a ton of fish (crappie) they have all been dinks 8" or less, I have only caught a couple of keepers. My questions is this: If I am catching small crappie only, should I move to another spot and forget that one or just keep fishing hoping to catch a bigger fish?![]()
This time of the year I've been weening thru a good many small fish to get a mess of keepers. I've tried other places and found the same thing so I just stuck with where Ive found the most. Fish seem to be alot thinner now vrs wintertime/early spring fishing so it takes pretty good sized fish to make a keeper.
I have found that usually the larger fish are a little deeper than all the dinks I've been catching, 'course you cannot get away from the small ones either. When I'm catching small fish in 12' of water I moved to 16' and moved my hooks deeper. Didnt catch as many fish, but they generally were a little bigger.![]()
Same spot, go deeper.
