Default Shelbyville ramp infor.

FYI---

Appears the regular ramps have been opened at Lake Shelbyville today. At least, Whitley is open with the recovery dock in place and that ramp is usually the last to receive much attention around here. Just thought some of you might want to check it out instead of using the high water ramps this weekend. Others should be open also. Sorry, no fishing reports to offer.

Had to use the high water ramp at 9th Street in Shelbyville today. Looks like the regular ramp should be open soon. We caught a lot of crappie today - hand our limit of fish under ten inches in 20 minutes. We finally ended up with six over ten inches. Nothing real big - had one 10.5 and five 11 inchers. We went through 6 dozen minnows in five hours. We never kept anything under 9 inches. Caught all our fish in standing timber in 15 to 32 feet of water about 11 feet down.

We get them at the motel there below the dam right on the river.

I don't ever get there all that early so I don't know just how early they do open. However, here is some info including the phone number. Spillway Motel, The East Route Highway 16 Shelbyville, IL 62565 217-774-9591 ... Located across from the dam spillway, a bait shop is on-site

Default Ramp at Wolf Creek

The high water ramp at Wolf Creek is a almost to the end of the ramp. They are trying to get the regular ramp open but lots of algae. Since our governor does not see fit to fund the DNR they are not able to purchase chemicals to clear the algae.

Will keep the board advised of futher developments

Default Wolf Creek

Barry,

Thanks for the heads up on Wolf Creek. That's where I usually put in.

Won't be heading that way for a few weeks, so hopefully it'll be good to go by then.

Anyone know when Leprechaun Landing Bait Shop closes?

Thanks

I was there yesterday and they were closed --it was somewhere around 8:30 so I would have thought it would have been open
Went to bo-woods and got minnows --the fellow said he would prolly close after labor day
