Default Not Crappie But Fun

Told you guys I would post the pictures from today. Had two guys who just wanted to take home meat and plenty of it and they like to eat buffalo so I had the answer for them. We hooked about fifteen of them and lost three at the boat trying to get the gaff in their mouth and one jumped out of the boat in the thirty pound class. We did get two or three others that were very close to thirty. Cleaned these seven in the picture and got fourteen gallon zip lock bags full of fillets and two very happy railroaders.

Yep, must be some nasty eating from the size of that fellow on the right, probably going to turn that other youngman into an old guy big like that too. I can tell some of you haven't had to eat at some point in your life. I've ate many of them myself and furnished a lot to folks that were to embarassed to let folks know they HAD to eat Carp. I've thanked God many a time for furnishing this poor white boy with something to eat, even a nasty ole buffalo, carp or whatever you want to call them. Have a good un. Ferdi aka Fred

Never tried them but I do know one thing, they sure are fun to shoot with a bow or catch on a big ole catfish pole. I have caught several while crappie fishn on a crappie pole. Thought it was going to break my pole before I landed it.
I caught my first Muskie ever last week while crappie fishn and I think I would rather catch a Buffalo or a Carp than a Muskie. I never knew that a Muskie stunk so bad. They have a terrible smell to them.

Looks like fun.

CX.

Yea that buffalo fishing looks fun but I am on the eating of it. I'll stick to crappie and bluegills.

I haven't tried carp for a lot of years; but I don't remember them being so bad. How they are prepared probably makes a big difference. If you don't mind my asking, how did you catch them?

I remember catchin those things down at rend when i was a teenager. Caught at a pumphouse if i remember right on the levee that didnt run across the lake all the way. Big heavy fish i think the smallest was like 8 lbs. Caught them all on crappie rods.
