Default Crappie U.S.A. 2009

The tentative schedule is out for next year and like I had heard we in Illinois are left out. I don't know how they can call it a north region when Patoka and Ceaser Creek in Ohio are the only two lakes north of Kentucky Lake. Everything is very south and with gas as it is I am sure none of us will go to anymore tourneys. That is too bad I enjoyed fishing their tourneys and I know that Lake Shelbyville drew more entrants than over ninety percent of those tourneys in the south. Since the little town of Shelbyville won't put up the $6500.00 for U.S.A. to come back, none of us will see a tourney on that lake again. I mean how much do they need. They already get 20% of the field entry and pay back very little as it is. Second place is a slap in the face in those tourneys and won't pay for your gas home so I am done with them.

This is a shame. My brother and I started fishing these tourneys last fall and had a lot of fun. We are younger and were hoping to get into this pretty heavy. We fished Patoka, Shelbyville, and Decatur and would have fished Mississinewa if my brother didn't have baseball games. The payout wasn't that great but the chance to qualify for the regional and win a new ranger was worth it. Then they cut that out. I wish someone would start a new association that was simplified. I understand you are going to have overhead but some of the other facets are unnecessary. And what would be wrong with having more than one boating sponsor, they are all starting to make crappie boats, let each one give out a boat at a tourney instead of having a cup that a handful of people can compete in.

Luke, It is on their website Crappie U.S.A. Looks like Tim Benson and I will team up to fish Kentucky Lake. A lake I am very familar with, so hopefully we can get to Patoka Regional. A lake he is very familar with and that is as far as we will go.

the southern illinois crappie association sponsors 4 tournaments in the spring on carlyle, kinkaid, rend and the smithland pool, our entry fee is $100 and includes $10 toward big fish, we have a 70% payback with first place paying a min. of $500, fish two tournaments and you qualify for our classic in oct. with a min. of $1,000 for first place, we are a nonprofit il. corp., all of our money minus expenses is paid back, it costs $15 a person to join and you must be a member to fish, our website is at Home Page joel drury pres., sica, inc.

I'm thinking the list is tentative and not complete for the Northern Division.

I too thought the dividing line was interesting.
A lot of those lakes are a long drive from SW Missouri with the exception of Table Rock. I'll be surprised if there isn't more in limbo right now.

Eufaula always had good turnouts. That was a great lake to fish this spring wether you were in a tournament or not.

I was thinking Shelbyville would be a sure thing for CUSA. That tourney usually averages over 60 boats.

Time will tell.

Hey Kit I believe your right about the schedule being tenative.

I noticed there are no tourneys from Indiana, Illinois, or Mississippi so I don't think they are done.
