Default Good Ol Blagojevich

This was on Prairie State Outdoors website..Just unbelievable...

BY JEFF LAMPE
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources faces more bad news in the wake of Gov. Blagojevich’s latest round of proposed budget cuts.

Though nothing is set in stone yet, and there are plenty of fights ahead, Blagojevich’s cuts would likely require major staff reductions. Sources say the DNR cuts would include $9 million in salaries, or 11.5 percent of all DNR salary from funds. The proposed DNR head count for 2009 would be 1,420. That would require a reduction of 163 positions.

Here’s a possible breakdown in those cuts, culled from fact sheets sent out recently by two different sources.

Office of Realty and Environmental Planning GRF cut in personnel is 960,000 or 51%. Total Personnel cut (taking into account money from other funds) is 40%.

Business Services GRF Personnel cut is 227,900 or 25%. Total personnel cut is 9%.

Public Services GRF cut in personnel is 113,100 or 25%. Total Personnel cut is 22%.

The Office of Resource Conservation GRF cut in personnel is 960,000 or 43%. Total personnel cut is 7%.

The Office of Law Enforcement GRF cut in Personnel is 781,700 or 12%. Total Personnel cut is 6%.

The Office of Land Management GRF cut in Personnel is $3.2 million or 22%. Total Personnel cut is 13%.

The Office of Mines and Minerals GRF cut in Personnel is 633000 or 25%. Total Personnel cut is 10%.

Office of Water Resources GRF cut in Personnel is 831,700 or 21%. Total Personnel cut is 19%.

The Illinois State Museum GRF cut in Personnel is 484,700 or 14%.

Total veto of all operational funding for the Wildlife Prairie Park in Peoria ($828,200).

Veto of two items (Lost Mound and Endangered Species, total $480,000) from the Natural Areas Acquisition Fund. Since it’s not GRF this does nothing to help balance the budget.

If U mean the sports license plates on car it all goes to general fund as Gov BlaG had law changed a couple years back. All $ from all state parks goes directly to General fund also then a few pennies is alloted to parks

Not only are the resident license high, what about the stupid unconstitutional "FOID" card they require every good citizen to have to own a firearm in this great state? Where does that money go? Not only do we have to have a card to own a firearm in this state, We have to send off for a deer permit in a lottery system along with people from out of state. That is a bunch of B/S. This state is ran by a crook that likes to spend mine and your money.
Sorry for being a grouch on this subject but this kind of stuff gets under my skin. I have several good friends that work for the DNR and that kind of crap could affect their jobs. I have one friend that is a CPO who goes out and either works on his own time or uses his own money to put fuel in his work truck or boat. Just because the state "don't have any money". But the good ole gov. can take flights back and forth from Springfield to Chicago on tax payers money.
I asked this CPO why he does that crap for and he said because he loves the job. Let me tell ya, I have been in law enforcement for about 12 years and I don't love the job enough to do it for free or pay for my own gas. That is what the FOP is for. To fight to try and keep idiots like our good ole gov out of office.

Sorry but you got me started with this thread.

CX.

I was stopped on Evergreen today by a Mclean County officer. I have talked to him twice now and I let him know that I appreciated seeing him out their. Since the state doesn't have any money I think that Mclean county is using officers to patrol on weekends because the Cpo's won't get paid through the state. I am going to try and get the sportsmen I know in the peoria area to use some of their influence on our reps for this one. There are quite a few lawmakers who visit the hunting grounds in the peoria area who might lend a hand with the situation.

Preac on CX!!! That fool needs to GO!!!!!!!!!!! My question is what's he doing with all the Pitman-Robertson funds that is being collected for license/hunting fishing equipment??? The FEDS dole out those funds and are to be used for providing opportunities for sportsmen/women. They are not to be used in the general fund.

We need to Recall this $%^%$ before we don't have a state anymore.

I totally agree X, there are only 2 state that make you own a FOID card and we are one of them. I think Wisc. is the other, and the only other state worse than Illinois is New Jersey these are the worst states you can live in.
