Default Carlyle Lake Fishing Guides?

Does anyone here guide on Carlyle or know of someone that does? I haven't been able to fish much lately and would really like to go crappie or white bass fishing and would like to find the closest possible lake to the St. Louis area. Also, I've not heard much talk about how the fishing at Carlyle. Good/bad??

If not, I'll probably try to hit Rend lake. I guess I'll be contacting crappiextreme and/or lakeshelbyvilleguide, soon. Thanks

Hi, contact Henkels bait shop in Caryle ((618) 594-4818), I think they have a guide service.
The Crappie didn't happen this year at Carlyle. They have been killing the catfish since March. They are fishing off the rocks and the flooded timber. Fish with shrimp, and shad gut. My son in law has been getting them with a 1/4 oz. Jig Head tipped with a mud leach.
Crappie will be better in the fall.
Good luck
John

Thanks for the info!

Anyone else have input. Other lakes close to the St. Louis area I'm not aware of?

for carlyle try calling buddy langenhorst at mamma lavish's bait shop, 618 594-4413, i known fishing below the dam has been excellent, if i wasn't going to truman every weekend i would be on kinkaid lake by murphysboro, best summer crappie lake in the area, i would avoid weekends if possible.
