    Question ICE fishing plummets

Does anybody know where to buy the store bought, snap on/off, painted, plummet weights? Thank you in advance...

I have some of the old Thill plummets I'll sell you cheap.

I really prefer my homemade plummets, though. I just take a 3/4 oz. bass casting weight and glue a small piece of foam to the bottom.

Thanks Chaunc...I didn't see any when I went to the Jamminjigs site so probably should call...

Hey, DB4D, why do you put foam on the bottom of your homemades...?

    Thanks all..

OK, here's a picture of the weight I use:

I glue foam to the bottom so I have something to secure the hook. I just tie the hook to the line, slip the hook through the hole at the top of the weight, and then push the hook into the foam at the bottom. This makes sure that the rig is secure. Also, when the plummet hits bottom, I know that my hook is on the bottom.

I made some of my own with alligator clips and heavy bass casting sinkers.Just slide the ring from the sinker into the tube on the clip and squeeze with pliers.

    Default plummets

I have been eye balling plummets also. Id like to find some of the lindy small plummets. I did find these on ebay:
DIPSY DEPTHFINDER PLUMMET STYLE, ICE FISHING L@@K!!!!! - eBay (item 270168785036 end time Nov-14-08 15:26:59 PST)

But they look like large ones. I was also considering buying a few drop shot weights and just sliding silicone tubing over the swivel and then hooking through the swivel and tubing.
I thought the european plummets looked stupid with the cork on the bottom until i saw how they rig them, great idea.
