Default using 12 volt "fog light" ice-fishing

Hi all,
I mounted a 12 volt car- fog light, to a bucket (that i keep my vexilar on top of).
I point the light down the hole (fishing where I frequently mark crappies at night).
My history ice fishing on this lake draws me to THAT spot, every year, as I have drilled thousands of holes on this lake, and it's the only place I mark fish.
I get about 8 fish on a good night, maybe 2 keepers in the bunch.
In the spring I can slam them, with any crappie bait you can think of.
Using the light, I'm not marking, OR, catching any more fish, than I have without it.
Am I missing something?
