Default Treking out on new waters

Hey Guys,

I new to the forum and pretty much new to crappie fishing. I've spent most of my time fishing for walleye, pike and muskie in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, but i'm looking for a new adventure this winter, crappies! I've booked a trip for late december to do some crappie fishing for a few days on a new and large body of water, what do you guys suggest looking for in the way of depths, structure and tackle at this time of year??

Thanks in advance for the help,

Jeff Davey
