Yea there are some spots to ice fish Kane, County Illinois. I live in the next county over Dupage. Dupage has more lakes for ice fishing. If you can get out come to Dupage and go to Blackwell forest preserve some good fishing there. I fish that lake alot in open water season and do good on crappie, gills, and bass. Even get a walleye every year. Here is the site to the Dupage forest preserve. Also there should be safe ice around by that time. If it is under 4" dont venture out. I will post some ice reports when we get there.
