so the tip of your hook isn't showing

I hook them once in the head for crappies.If you want the jig to fall slower it slows the jig fall.If you thread, the jig will fall quicker.Let the fish tell you what they wan't.If you hook it through the head you can quiver it better.

do you guys use any 1/64 or 1/80 oz jigs??? like the ones we use for crappie and trout?

Yes I catch a ton of gills on 64 and 80 oz hair jigs they work great!!!!
