Default Anyone else getting the itch????

Starting to think a lot about ice fishing here. My Brother in Law and his wife bought a cottage on a private lake in SE Michigan this spring and the crappie fishing is GREAT!! I can't wait until the lake ices over and we can chase the slabs this winter. I've been putting fresh line on my ice rods this weekend, and attaching some different spring bobbers. Picked up a couple of Tica Cetus reels off of eBay for a decent price a couple of weeks ago. I want to get two of the St Croix Legend rods then I'm done shopping for the season.

I'm hoping to be on the ice someplace the first weekend in December, like I was last year. That is not normal for Indiana, so I'll drive north if I have to.

    Anyone else??

Jeff, keep scratchin. I love the ice but i also love the fall bite here in Western PA. The slabs will be feeding up real soon and chasin spoons. Got a couple last week that started the blood pumping. I can wait patiently for the ice while i catch slabs like these.

i spent many hours on the ice chasing paper mouths last year, all i can say is i cant wait.

I'm going to start looking for another rod for this up coming season also, not sure what kind yet but i do know i want it very sensitive since i use no type of bobbers, tight line only

hey, ready2fish, i might have the perfect rod that ur looking for. i built a bunch last winter got 2-3 of the 60" custom rods and a couple of 36" and i think a 42" left. all are ultra lite blanks ,all have custom wood handles, and the 60" rods are super sensitive
