    Default son's first bird

My 13 year old son harvested his first wild turkey yesterday on opening morning here in Indiana. We had a gobbler (on the roost) behind us very interested in my calls. Two jakes snuck in to our decoys (pretty boy with a real fan and pretty girl) We decided to take the bird in hand and he got a 15 pound 5 ounce Jake. It had a 6 inch beard and 11 mm spurs. To say the least he was very excited. I will be out after my bird this weekend.

Congrats to the young man and that's the way to raise em dad "keep em in the woods and on the creeks and you won't have to look for em in the hoods and on the streets"
That's an experience the two of you'll share from now on and it will only strengthen the bond between yall. I know your as proud as he is excited I know I was with both my boys.

Tell him good job on the turkey and keep up the good work, noting better than being a sportsman. Last year my son took his first deer and i am not sure who was more excited him are me.
    Just my two cents:D
