Thread: didnt get a deer but got these dudes

i didnt get a deer this weekend but i got 5 quail today .i was hunting with my 12ga. with slugs until i seen the quail and switched over to no.6 shot and killed these

Nice. I wish we had more quail around here. 20 years ago they were thick but now days there's hardly any in the area...

not many around here any more either but those quail are sure some good eating

Not hardly enough Quail around here to train a dog on, hunted Quail as a teenager every chance I got, we can hunt pen raised Quail for a fee but they don't taste the same. Congrats..

Then I went straight to the the picture and didn't read the rest of your sentence. I thought, "What the heck? Slugs for quail, that's a first!" Anyway, I'm an idiot. Nice job! Haven't seen any pictures of or heard of anybody talkin much about quail around here in a long time. Looks like you had a pretty good shoot.

Dang 78. You must have a good nose on you to point them and find the dead birds. If you ain't bad about getting out of your pen; load into the truck well; and back another dog on point, I'll pay $1,000 for you right now.
