How true it is. Raised beagles back in the 80's. Loved raising puppies. Finally got the parvo epidemic at the pens, and bought gallons of Clorox and soaked the soil and wooden pen floors monthly. Stayed on top of the vaccine....done it right. Couldn't get rid of it. It's a horrible way for puppies to die. You learn to detect the symptoms pretty quick, and once you see the vomiting and diarrhea, all's left is a prayer. Survival rate is very low. Finally sold 23 mature dogs all at once. I kinda miss raising them puppies.

Treed, what's this? Been away from raising huntin' dogs for years. Just got 2 rat terrier puppies, and gonna try to make squirrel dogs out of'em. Guess it's another puppy getter??

Not sure, but had a young mutt pet get it one time, so the vet said, and it was a slow death over a couple of days. I was younger when it happened. Bloody stool was the big give away for us. Luckily, yet still unfortunately it was only one dog. From what Ive been told a 7way shot wont get it but an 8way will?

This being said, we got a 4mo old picture perfect beagle pup, I mean, imho she's a poster puppy for perdy, but I like dark, blanket back dogs anyway....anyway shes outside up in a pen about 4 feet off the ground. Heard her yapping her little head off this morning and there were 3 rabbits sitting out about 20ft from her pen lol. This aint the first time its happened, theyll come torment her to no end, they torment the old dogs CONSTANTLY, sitting 3ft from the lot, knowing they aint gonna get out of the lot after them.

We have some rabbits around our home, & a few young ones from the spring, they torment my dogs too, they'll bark, whine, just wanting one shot at them, it's comical, but I'd say the rabbits won't find it too funny if the dogs got out just once, haha.

the rabbits we have love it.....we actually had two missouri cotton tails get out and stay around the yard....we got walker coonhound/beagle mix mutt as a pet thats about as lazy as the day is long....his top speed is about a fast walk lol.............theyll torment him to no end, time after time after time again....they wont stay gone about 5min, then theyll come back out looking for him, get right up near him, he'll 'trot' em out of the yard, they come back 5 min later and do it again...........that pup has 2 pet rabbits and 3 little ones not 2 ft away from her pen, in another pen beside of her, she doesnt pay them any attention, I dont reckon she knows theyre rabbits too lol

Treednnc i have raised dogs my hole life and have found that beagles are the hardest pups to keep alive but from my experience it is best to keep them on a concrete pad its a hole lot easier to keep clean and to treat for parvo. if you need any more help let me know i love to rabbit hunt and raise beagles

mat g....our grown dogs stay on a concrete pad....hell they even have their own septic tank lol. 20x20 pad w/ 4 10x10 lots on a slope, trought at the end with a slope to it to a pipe in the ground to a 500 gallon septic tank. Makes it easy to wash. Wash down every couple months with bleach, spray in feb or march when the first ticks show, with liquid 7 and spray the green vegetation around the lot for about 3ft to help keep ticks away.

Weve had beagles all my life. I cant remember not having any. All dads life, and his dad and his grandpaw lol. It runs thick in the blood. Other than new borns that were born dead, i dont remember any dogs dieing except from old age since that mutt died.

We also have about 3ac fenced in w/ wild rabbits, brush and thickets to train pups in.

Aint no stranger to dogs thats for sure lol We did have one however, a few years ago.....had TEN pups and raised ALL of them. Never seen a beagle have TEN, let alone raise em all.
