Well according to Field and Stream Magazine November 11 was rated the best day to be in the woods for deer hunting. Don't really know what all went in to them drawing that conclusion, but nonetheless, it proved to be spot on for me.
Shot this buck at 8:45 this morning and am reasonably sure I grunted and snort wheezed him to the base of my tree. Couldn't get him stopped and was at full draw for a least a full minute trying to make the shot without hitting a limb. Unfortunately, my first shot was through the gut. I was able to send another arrow into him that angled through his liver taking out a lung. He ran about 60 yards before expiring.
I feel very fortunate to have taken him. My biggest bow kill.
Now that the buck tag is filled, I'm switching gears back to Crappie Fishing.
Nice Buck! Congrats
Congrats. Thats a fine buck
Thats a hoss, congrats Brad. Im still waitin for this weekend. How wide is that guy, looks 20+, and hes got some pretty slit g-2's. Nice deer. Gotta love beeing in the woods w/ a bow.
I really enjoy being in the woods this time of year. I prefer bowhunting and try like heck to get my buck before the sea of orange heads into the woods. The picture makes the buck look a little wider, he's about 18 1/2 inches wide. Brows on the buck are nice at over 7" and it has some pretty good mass. I'm thinking it might score high 120's maybe 130.
Wow! Awesome bow kill! I know you were pumped up. Congrats!
thats a buck to be proud of:D
Great deer!!!
Thats a real HOG. Nice buck badbrad.
