i shot the 2 blades this year i shoot a mathews rezeen 7.0. I have shot 2 deer with them a 6 point at 35 yard and a doe at 25 yards. had great blood trails on both but for finding the deer i didnt. IMO i wouldnt hit a bull in the a@# with them. after the doe i went back to muzzys 4 blade.. and found every deer i hit with them..like they said you have good and bad reviews. mine on these are bad.

I killed a nice 8 point with the 2 blade rage broadhead and had NO problems finding that deer... Just followed the bloody redbrick road right to him. I like them and will keep using them. Im sold on them.

With the number of responses on this thread it leads me to believe that like them or not, by some buying them they at least look lethal. I don't think there's a broadhead out there that will ensure you a kill. Sometimes we shoot and feel like we couldn't have walked up there and placed it in a better spot and find no deer. I've seen them do some amazing stuff in my lifetime even with a gun. They are just flat out tough. I just try to wait for the best possible quartering away shot and let it fly; so far my practice has paid off, not to say I won't shoot one this year and it vanish into thin air. I've really enjoyed the Rage. I think it's a fine broadhead made by a fine company. Earlier last year I had major problems changing out the blades; I recommend not even trying. Anyways I emailed Rage because mine stripped out, I had 4 of them. The lady emailed me back telling me to just send in my broadheads and they'd replace them no questions asked. So I sent in my 4 broadheads and they sent me back 6 brand new ones, 2 packs. Hard to beat that. I'm really looking forward to this next season, but until then practice plenty and keep the lines wet. First of all, I dont personally shoot rage, I prefer montec G5. As for those, no complaint period. But a buddy of mine was thinking about trying the rages so I started researching them. My cousin that shoots them, shot a nice Illinois ten pointer with them this year. He said after he shot the deer just stood there, so he thought he had missed, but then he started hearing a noise. He realized the noise was blood spraying out both sides hitting the leaves. The deer dropped seconds later. Then I visited a local bow shop to ask questions. As soon as I mentioned them, the guy said first deer he shot with one, the blades didnt open. He never found the deer, and he mentioned he had a problem with the blades always coming open on the arrows still in his quiver. He runs a reputable bow shop, so im sure his setup is well tuned and his equipment sound. He said he tries all of the products he sells, but will not be using rage again. He will not be pulling them from the shelves, but will not lie of his experiences with them if asked. So he will still have them for people that like them, but will not be recommending them. I Am Well Pleased With My Rage Two Blades. Took My Largest Bow Buck Last Year With Them A 240 Pound Illinois Nine Pointer. Of Couse At Seven Yards I Think I Could Have Used A Field Point. Just Kidding!!!!!!!!

Yeah I've heard of that happening a few times to some people, that's tough especially when something like that happens to you on a once in a lifetime opportunity. It would put me off of them too if it was the first time to use them. I don't think there's a perfect broadhead. You have some fixed blades that are a pain because of flight patterns and expandables/rear deploys that don't always work, but I guess someone could argue that they should have just used a gun. I say it's just the sport of it and that's why we do it.
Hit em' right and they will drop. Make no bones about it. It has little to do with the broadhead. They will all go through a deer and kill it. I started shooting them in the neck right behind the head, from any angle. If you miss, it is a clean miss and if you hit them they drop. Even when you miss the spine they drown in blood if you hit the throat. and if it is the back of the neck there is enough nerves they still go down. I shoot muzzy and steel force and never had an issue with either. I did shoot 2 deer with an expandable, top of the line 2" cut, and never found them, both were perfect right through the chest. I have shot 2 deer and they did not react, did not know they were hit, one even bent down and picked up an acorn to eat and then it started wobbling and just fell over. I notice on TV bear and pigs scream when hit almost always. I also bring an old arrow and broadhead and pop the tail off a squirrel. A week or so later I will see them like nothing happened, but bob tailed.

I agree with this shot placement is everything. I shoot 95 gr steelhead 1 1/4. never had a issue with expansion killed from 7 to 65 yards. if you drop it in the engine room they are done no questions asked! From what i have read the problem only lies in the 3 blade rage for the same reason they are banned in ny. there is a small nub that the blades slide on when they open and lock them open. with the slightest machine or assembly error that nub binds the blade on impact causing them not to open. with than much surface area and no cutting edge is why people are seeing little or no penetration . i have friends that use the 2 blade "everyone i no really" they love them, but they still miss , hit to far back or to high and lose deer

I've heard that with the 3 blades, which I can't understand why anyone shoots the 3 blade anyways with the cut the 2 blade makes.

That's pretty awesome you just shoot them in the neck, just go ahead and take all the guess work out huh!?? I like that. I agree with shot placement, if you shoot a quick enough bow and just use a field point, hitting one well will put him down.
I had a thread about this before, but if anyone has anymore thoughts I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to get my dad's crossbow sighted in. He's shooting the rage as well (100 gr), I can't get it to fall into place as they say it's supposed to. Sight in the 20 yard the rest are supposed to fall in accordingly with the scope out to 60 yards. That seems kinda impossible, but I've heard of guys working just fine. Any ideas on broadheads to use along with size that would make this work out let me know. Thanks
