I have to echo the sentiments of Foul Hook. The newer actions arent nearly as smooth from the box as the older models are, but they arent that bad either. With a little attention to detail they can all be made to be as smooth as butter. If you got a sticking bolt and your using factory standard loads you got a problem! While 1 - 1.5 inches is probably okay hunting accuracy, they are all very capable of of much better accuracy than that. I own 5 and the crappiest one, a 700 in .338 Win Mag, will shoot under an inch with several loads when I do my part.
