Thread: Its Been A While

Hey folks I havent been on in a while and thought I would just give an update on the big happenings around the big City of Paducah. Went to the lake with the family this past weekend and had one of the best times ive had in years. Even though we only brought home one quart bag of fillets it was still great. Most of you have read before about the project I am doing which is taking Service Members and Disabled Veterans hunting for free. Well recently I got the opportunity to buy a 2 bedroom house here in Paducah so that I can put them up free when they come up and save them some expense. I was able to buy the house for $2000.00 It needs some work but most is in pretty darn good shape. Only problem right now is there is one room on the south side that has roll roofing and it had a limb go thru it so I am needing to replace the decking and the roof as well as the ceiling on the inside of that room. I am going to use metal for the roof on that side. The main roof is shingled and was put on in 2001. The bathroom on the north side has roll roofing on it also but I will also be replacing it. When the lady that lived there passed away and they moved her stuff out of there, they took everything including the light bulbs along with the stove and refrigerator. It needs a lot of cleaning and paint on the inside. The outside is metal siding but the eves need paint as well. It will take time but I am working on it a little at a time. Time is money and money is thin lol. But all in all, I am having fun doing it. Hope all had a great 4th.

Congrats on your purchase. At that price you can afford to do a few improvements. That's a good deed you are doing for those servicemen.

I have some before pics. It will be a while before I get it completed. It will be slow going because I am not a rich man so I will do it a little at a time.
