This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.
We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:
...It is registered
...You are fingerprinted
...You supply a current Driver's License
...You supply your Social Security #
...You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any ti me of their choosing
...Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25
- Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

....There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.
The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs and especially the NRA..
This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

what people don't really understand is ...it's not obama going after our rights
congress is they are the ones that decides if they are for it then it goes before obama

I believe Ted Nugent is dead nuts on when he says that the Second Amendment IS his right to conseal and carry. End of discussion.

If you think for one minute that any gun control legislation that will go before this Congress is not Obama driven, then just keep drinking the koolaide.

If you can't adhere to the rules you listed in the original post, then you don't deserve to own a firearm. What do you have to hide if you can't register it, get finger printed, be a U.S. citizen, etc.... There is nothing in the bill saying anyone is going to take your gun away just because you own it. The bill is to keep people from having guns that don't deserve them. Are you doing something so wrong that you can't do what they are asking to keep us all safer? Obviously you are, or you wouldn't be bitching about a law that would keep everyone safer. No one is coming after your average hunters guns, they are looking for more high powered weapons, but Ted Nugent has brainwashed most normal hunters to thinking that the government is out to get your guns. When is the last time your average hunter went hunting with an AR-15? I own alot of guns and use them all for hunting or sport shooting, but I don't think the government is looking for me, they are looking for people who can't adhere to the rules you listed in the original post. And if you can't keep your guns locked up around kids, regardless of age, you don't deserve to have them anyway because you obviously can't teach gun safety by leaving them available to anyone.

This bill is about control, pure and simple. It's not about safety or any other "good" reason they put forward. The government just wants to control more and more of our lives.

Fortunately, this bill is going nowhere. Snopes has a good article on it and its (near zero) chance of becoming law.
