this stuff isn't all that uncommon and it makes me sad , I had 2 different monsters living in my area and one in particular was a home boy that I saw with my wife in a bachelor herd and he had a rack so wide it was beyond imagination .the following year a young guy about the age of the fellow in the above article who lived a few miles away somehow harvested him under VERY suspicious circumstances that mirror those in the article. Seems he was in the coffee shop right at first light with a "fresh" killed monster buck talking it up and my ranch manager saw him in his truck at about 3 30 am out in my area of the woods . this mans dad farmed the field across from me and this buck was known by myself and a few others to visit that field late at night . . . . . I do know this , they charge by the inch for illegally taken bucks over 100 B an C as restitution after they burn your wallet up with fines and other costs and confiscations ...makes me happy to see the above schmuck get his desreves ...and I am sorry if that sounds not nice but it is what it is !

Temptation has ruined many lives. And yes, he is getting what he deserves. Kudos to the game wardens for staying with it.

We had a blow hard in our hunting club years ago.I had stayed on a stand until last light and had a 20 minute trip back to camp. I had taken off my hunting clothes and was walking over to the camp house for supper when I heard him shoot. When he came in with a deer, I asked him " It's hard as hell to hold the light and shoot by yourself isn't it?" Before he could think he said " It sure is..I I I I didn't use a light."

I find it just sad that we have reached a point in deer hunting that folks stoop to such levels on a regular basis. Giant racks is all that matters throw tradition, life lessons and the total experience out the window. Kill at all cost, if u can't find a giant in daylight just poach one or better yet have someone breed u one so u really have something to show off to your buddies. I'm prob in the minority here but I remember a time when deer camp was the place to be and hunters were congratulated no matter what they shot, the crackle of the campfire while old timers told stories of free range giants that stirred the youngsters imagination. Now it's leases auctioned off to the highest bidder, if u don't shoot a buck the others deem mature your a poor sportsman, if u do take a good deer u r accused behind your back of foul play, camp fires no longer burn for fear of scent control issues. The list goes on. Sorry for the rant
Seems everyone these days are selling dreams, I'm just to cheap to buy one!
