You are correct but not all land is equal. The Mississippi delta has great soil and will grow bigger deer than my area. It is very hard to get people to let them walk as well.

I understand that good soil grows good crops and good deer but with year round food plots and letting them grow will help. If you have 100 class bucks maybe with some work it could be raised to 130 class. I have seen some good deer come from the hills, just not many of them.
