    Default Poacher !

I seen and met some very different folks in my journeys and met a few that were likely poachers in some cases and for sure poachers in others . that said I went to my place Monday after a 3 week rest and drive up to my secondary blind and right behind it sits a Very sophisticated tower thingee with a feeder set in front of it a mere 30 yards from my blind in the open field . now this thing is down wind and over my shoulder in a blind spot and when I drive up I am SPEECHLEES ....7 years on this place and never a sign of another human in the areas I hunt .
I knew right off it was a remote set up that sends real time signals to someones laptop or phone and was some kinda undone mentally when I went over to the multiple cameras and gave then that look of extreme crazy while I flew the bird with both hands up close and personal in the lenses .
I think I about started as grass fire I was so HOT ! I made a few calls and no body knew what or who it was that did it ? So as I try to decide what or how I am gunna deal with it I toss a jig in the pond with my wife a bit . I am waiting for a call back from the powers to be , then in about 10 minutes up drives a truck !
I hoof it right fast to the truck and out pops someone I never seen while a younger teenage looking guy sits in the truck .
I start of kinda smarty by how can I help you .....? knowing full well whats about to go down he gets out and comes my way . I of course size him up and he isn't armed and I think oh boy I about to beat this fella right down if acts the least bit cocky . So he looks a little upset and says I got photos of you on my camera
I said ...I BET YOU ^&*($% DO ! WHO are you and why are you here and WHO gave you permission to be here !!!
Well he gest all crawdaddy and making up stories like his last name and says he is related to the folks that run cattle there. Goes on and on talking in circles about he is just trying to help with the hog problem we have and so on and so forth .
I finally told him we are done talking and I have to go , he drives off and then I get a call saying they know who he is and he is to be gone right NOW and the man said he best not give you any trouble as I know who he is where he lives and will adjust his attitude in a quick second .Seems he had had a problem with him years ago cutting fences to run hogs and I meet the landowner the next day and he knows him as well and says that's just how he operates ?
Anyway I am out in a few to go checking my stuff again to make sure he is gone for good , I held a sign up to his camera on Monday saying to get his stuff out that day and went back Tuesday morning packing heavy to make sure it took place .
he pulled his stuff and was long gone when I got there Tuesday , but these types never rest
I few photos for yawl of the before and after and of course a few bucks I have seen in the area ....
and yes I know ,should have called the game warden but in many cases as in this one it might make things difficult for those of us that are not breaking the law with the constant intrusions that will occur to make sure this jack wagon don't come back in there , the last thing I need or want is folks driving the property right before deer season all the time .

Ya got em everywhere you go,it took me 4 years to rid my property of a large group of tresspassers. They purchased a couple acres a 1/2 mile of my farm, every deer season things would get pretty hairy, the law was called several times, and they were always caught with illegal deer, but every year they would do it again.
I caught Three of them in one of my shooting houses, needless to say, when the dust settled and word spread to the whole group,no longer did they desire to trespass on my farm again.I always set up hidden trail cams, when I would gets pics of them,I would go to their camp and ask if they had been on me,they would deny it of course, untill I would pull out the SD card, funny how their stories would change.

Sorry you had to go through that Ketchn. You know their is always a BAD apple. I can't believe he put all that crapp out there. So he would cut the fence to let the hogs get on the property then tell them they have a hog problem? Hope your done with him and never have to see him again. Which cameras are you using? I'm thinking about getting some Browning cameras. Thanks for the post and keep us updated on your season.

Only way to stop it is to have them arrested.

I never run cameras , just spooks the heck out of the big bucks at night , that camera on the tree was his . after talking in depth with the landowner and lease manager I think he is still in hot water , the wife of the land owner wants to press charges and the lease manager says he is probably going to choke him good the next time he sees him . He cut the fences next door many years ago to run his horses and dogs thru that place chasing the hogs down the river and was given his last rites by the lease manager who owns that property next door that time .

That’s a shame and really annoying! Some people just weren’t raised right.
Glad you got him moved, and didn’t have anymore trouble.

I feel ya man! They are everywhere you go. Not many people with any respect left these days. Having a little trouble on our property right now as well.

When I was hunting in Texas in the 80s and 90s, the law against cutting a fence was still a hanging offence. Have him arrested and that should put the fear of God in him.

Yes sir I think that law may still be on the books , off in the country folks don’t always call the law to fix things you know , takes the law a while to get there in many cases and sometimes it just can’t wait

Hey Ketchn, just courious why you feel the cameras spook the big bucks ? We often film and shoot the larger bucks we catch of camera some the next day, some later, and some we never do.Not meaning to hijack the thread,or stir up anything, but we have pics of black bear licking our cameras, and deer putting an eyeball right against the lens, we've filmed many coyotes and bobcats, mostly at night, none ever appeared to spook.
Last season we shot two of our nicest bucks, both were on camera, one several times, Again,I'm just curious in your thoughts.By the way,a few trail cams go a long way when the sneaky Pete's venture places they shouldn't be,they seem to openly confess when they see the little SD card in my hand, I hope you get the interlopers under control
