    BLUEGILL & SHELLCRACKER EXPLOSION!
They went nuts over there today (monday 4-27-09)
caught 76 and kept 30..stringer weighed out at 15 pounds on the nose.
Mixture of bluegill and crackers. Fish were caught all day in less than 2 feet of water on #2 PantherMartin spinner with the gold blade 1/32 oz. size.
The crackers got to acting so crazy in the spot next to the old wharf, that they were hitting the lure on the fall...the line would just start swimming off sideways. (Picture is attached of it showing how the wharf looks now that the lake is full pool)
At that spot I got 14 on 14 casts and put 12 in the box...2 got loose.
Also another pic attached showing some of them on the carport. All fish in the day's catch were at just about 8 inches...again not like down in south Ga. but very good for this place.
I guess this was one of those days we live for. The wind was up high and out of the southwest (the direction I like..just an old superstition).
For that matter, everything about me is old now.
I had that electric motor worked on for a minor shaft adjustment a few weeks ago and the man was amazed when I brought along the instruction manual and the illustrated parts breakdown too..it is a 1979 model and just keeps on turning. First time it was ever in a shop.
Today would've been the ideal day to take a kid. If you have a smaller rig and a low hp engine(10hp is max.), now is the time..it's red hot over there.
    That's all for now.

Doug, thanks for great report. Looks like you can bank fishing from that whaft. Where is it? Is it in the back, after you pass the left bridge? Thanks!

    Dear Mr. Doug Bush,
I had a friend turn me on to a panther-martin lure about 26 years ago. Not many people have experience the majic one of those can do on large brim and shell cracker. I also love using a Renosky Keystone Minnow Jig on brim. I have had the same amazing results with this lure. I liked them so much that I would buy just the bodies in bulk. The yellow perch and rainbow trout are amazing. It is so good to read your reports again. I would love to take you dock shooting on Sinclair while the fishing is hot. I lost my job two months ago and would love to spend time with an old friend fishing. If you are interested, send me a private e-mail. Thanks for the report.

This wharf isn't up the lake.
This one is past where they park that larger river boat The Henry Grady there at the golf clubhouse/Commons Restaurant. (there are 2 riverboats over there...The big Henry Grady which stays next to the golf clubhouse and the smaller Scarlett O'Hara which stays at the main "marina" for the hourly rides)
As you can guess, they have a sign that says "Employees Only in This Area" I have pictured. So it's inaccessable except by boat
Fishing from the bank over there is a pretty tough proposition unless you are up, as you asked, past the left bridge.
There are a few good spots with deep water nearby, down on the main water where a bank fisherman can hold his own, but it would be practically impossible for me to type out exactly how to get to them.
    Regards
    Douglas

    Mister Hawk....
Will filter out some of my stuff from calendar and email you.
You're so right about the "magic" of that #2 Panther Martin.
The guys up north use them a lot, but down here in the south it's unusual to see them in action very much.
    Thanks for the invite.

    Doug,
Thanks again for info. Saw a car in the background of your picture and thought I could get access and like to try this week-end. But then, oh well ... I may have to stick near the boat ramp area. Thanks!
