Had a blast today fishing up in Crooked Creek as well as a few main lake docks with my 10 year old son Bryson. We caught 100 or so but only kept 42. Most were nice fish and we did keep a few dinks for grandma (she likes the whole fish, not so much the fillets). I will try to post pics tomorrow before cleaning. The only pic I have is this one, which is of a fish that my son caught. He manage to catch probably half of all the fish that we came home with, so it was a good time for him, especially beings it was his first time shooting docks. It was amazing though, one dock in particular held a good number of large white and black crappie, with most of the females still having eggs. On another dock, I bet we caught over 35 fish, keeping only 10 or so. By the way, I lost I bet 20+ jigs today and my son only lost 1. Go figure. Good times and remember the sun-screen, I can't imagine what we would look like without it.

It aint how big or how fancy your boat is, it's how many fish you can put in the frying pan!
Sounds like a good day for you and your son.!
"Fletch had a catch of a lifetime and he was even standing up when he caught it!"
Derek........Great catch with your son. When you say that you caught some white crappie, are you just referring to the color of the fish? I've fished Sinclair for years and never caught any white crappie in regard to species. What did the water look like on that end of the lake? A buddy of mine said it was still pretty stained on the bottom end of the lake. Again, congratulations on a good trip!!
That is what I call guality time together, thats priceless and will give you lots of memories for the future.

What were you shooting the docks with? (color, jig size)
I was using a 1/32 chenille jig (Mr. Luremaker358 makes them) in green/black/green and my son was using a BOBBY GARLAND 2" BABY SHAD in electric chicken w/ red 1/32 jig head. The baby shad skips really well and worked great for my son. Here are the rest of the pics, with the side by side pic of the two fish. Like I said, I'm probably wrong on the black/white and keep in mind, the "black crappie" were really black yesterday, I guess being in the cooler over night made them lose some pigmentation. By the way, the last pic is my favorite.

Nothing wrong with those pics. Those are really good fish for sinclair this late in the year. You should definately fish the slabmasters tourney up there in May.
congrats on a fine catch
