Fished Oconee today. Huge fish, but very few. Caught 10 kept 8. There is no comparison between the size / quality of fish on Oconee and Sinclair. Sinclair will always have quantity, but it rarely has consistant quality. I love Sinclair because it is my home lake, but Oconee has huge fish. Like always, they hit the Blue back / orange belly minnow tube. It seems like blue is always the magic color on Oconee. Now after this report I need YKK to show me his great pictures of the huge catch he just caught. Honestly, I try to do well on Oconee, but YKK is DA MAN!
where u fish on oconee..?
Glad you found some big uns, stay after em! I bet your numbers will go up the more the water clears. How is the water color? You catchin em on docks in the same area we did last year or they still back in the creeks? I aint got a cotton pickin thing to report since my last report at the end of march. I aint wet a hook in going on 26 days due to weather/buying and moving into a new house and a 2 week long business trip I started yesterday. I hope to go somewhere next friday night/saturday. Shoot me a pm next week if your going and we'll meet up. I'll probably need you to show me where to fish since I haven't been in so long.

The water is clearing up some(about 4" vis), but it is still very muddy. I put in at the new conv. store over by the Lodge. I am fishing the left side of the cove at the boat ramp. I am shooting docks. I have not made it up to your honey cove yet. I am going back to Sinclair tomarrow to help a friend fill his freezer. He likes the smaller crappie so Sinclair will be the place to be. Sorry to here you haven't had a chance to fish, but a new house and baby on the way is pretty exciting and I am sure keeps you very busy. Let me know when you will be up that way and I would like to meet you.
We caught 15 good crappie yeterday at Oconee shooting docks. But the wind was so bad you could only shoots docks in areas away fom the wind. It was impossilbe on the main lake. We cut the day short and went home early. Hope to go back tomorrow.
I feel like a leach for asking, but I'm taking a friend to Oconee this weekend. He wants to fish on Oconee cause he's never been there. I've only fished the lake 10-15 times so I know my way around the lake a little, but don't know where the fish might be this weekend. I'd appreciate your help guys. I know I can find some on my own but would appreciate a little head start.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.
