Thread: Lake Harding SLabfest Friday Night

I have talked to Smitty and he agrees that a burger and hotdog meal like we had at West Point will be great. Instead of asking people to bring different things we will get it all at one time and then split the bill. Saturday afternoon will be like all the other Slabfest with the fish fry. Would like for Diamond Jim to make those famous mater hush puppies.

Sounds like an easy plan to me....Just holler if I can help out in any way!!

you all lived after my charbroiling last time so I'll try it again..:D I'll have the burgers,dogs,buns,onion,maters,ketchup,mayo,grill, propane,baked beans, and cook it..

I hope to do some Thursday night...Just have to wait and see what time I get camp set up and how tired I am...I hope to be there and set up by 6:00 Thursday evening.

Yes, we definately plan on night fishing. By the way, my wife is not coming. Her brother is coming with me. He alot bigger than me so make sure there is alot of foodlol.

the dock lights are few and spread out now. I think they sent out a memo..."CUT the Dock Lights" but i know a few places to set out our own lights..

I'm so looking forward to this slabfest, still planning to be there wednesday evening, will be happy too assist smitty in the cooking, is going to make those Kick Up Grits for saturday, Let the Good Times roll.

Rag Fly, The mater hushpuppie maker is going to North Carolina but she said she would try to make a batch up before she leaves. we'll just have to try & not burn them while cooking.

Is the fest this coming fri. night ? We thought it was the following wk. end.

I'll be fishing Thurs & Fri night as long as you wanna stay out Smitty. I know you like to see the sun come up on the lake. We fished all night Sat. Woke up Firefly (twenty-eight times), who was sleeping on the floor of the boat. Ain't nothin worse than getting hit in the head with a SLAB. She shouldn't have had her head so close to the livewell. After the first time you think she woulda moved. LOL Had to take her to breakfast when she saw it getting light. Thankfull, Slabfest is May 2nd but I wish it was this weekend.
