Started fishing at daylight. Put in at Sugar Creek and it was 31 degrees and foggy. Fished up to the mouth of Sugar Creek the north in the channel up to "The Wall". One catfish and one 3 1/2 lb striper is all we caught....We did not catch the first crappie. At 12:00, we gave it up and went to BPS and did a little shopping. I guess we can mark today up to paying our Oconee Dues...We did mark alot of fish in those ares though, and learned just a little more about the lake so it was not a total loss.
I Love having A Crappie Day:D
At least I'm not the only one who doesn't catch fish on that lake. I still love the lake though and try to get there every chance I can. Unfortunatly it is not as often as I would like.
I wasn't just Oconee. Clarks hill was awfully tough today too. This front just came at a bad time.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.
Even on days when ya dont catch much and still learn something its a good day. Any day to me on the lake is better than a day doing something else. I hope oconee turns on before yalls tourney but I'm afraid its gonna stay the dead sea till early/mid march. Sure hope I'm wrong though.
Do Any Of You Ever Try A Drop Shot Rig With Minnows When The Lake Gets Tough Like This? Just Asking. I May Try That One Day Next Week.
Totally opposite from last year. January was great last year.
