Went out for a few hours with my son yesterday.Really a nice day for it. The water temp was a chilly 41 and had a slight wind but not too bad. The river has gone down alot just in the last few weeks. We marked a ton of fish in 11 to 14 ft but couldn't get a thing to bite. So we moved out into deeper water and couldn't mark a single fish. Pretty cold water for shallow fish but thats where there at right now. Didn't mark a lot of bait so I don't know whats making them go shallow maybe getting ready to drop some of the eggs they are full of right nowGood luck to ya'll
Thanks mud, I have been trying to get there for a coupl of months. seems like everything is working against me. I will get there!
Ole West Point resident... were did ya try ....
Ringer access was the spot today. The water is getting very clear on the river now. I guess I just haven't found the right color of jig yet but I'm still looking.
The water temp today was around 41 degrees and the fish were in 14 to 18 feet of water and most were right on the bottom. We caught about 45 and kept 33. It turned out to be a very nice afternoon. We had a hard time locating big fish.
Earl,
I went to West Point Sat. also and did no good only one good fish all day and a few small. Tight lined most of the time fish just have not moved out of the river channels. Did find fish on a couple spots in 10-12' but could only get a few nibbles.
