Default One last ? about depth finder

I noticed some of you talking about the battery issues. Im looking at the 768 and the 587 right now but I only run 1 battery at the moment. Would this be a problem since its a combo? Also someone mentioned that they couldnt run the depth finder on the TM battery. Why is that?

Your trolling motor should be on a seperate battery designed for a slow amp pull. If you hook both to the same battery you will get interference. It is always a good idea to have at least two batteries. One for starting, live wells, and lights and the fish finder plus one seperate for trolling.

I use a separate battery for my TM and another battery for my electronics. But when I ran everything off of 1 battery, I never had interference. I guess I was 1 of the lucky ones.

I never had interference until used the MinnKota PDV2 w/AP & US2. Switched everything over to one battery and then the PDV2 over to its own battery problem solved. I have H/B ff.
