Does someone here use this unit and do you run Navionics Hot Maps on it?
Was told it was one of the better to use if you were trying to run these maps on it.

I do use that unit but not the navtronics software. I use map create and the free enhanced maps for sinclair, oconee and tobo. It is a good unit but I understand that the mapping is usually better with the depthfinder/ gps units together.

Thanks Splitcritter. It will surely work better with a combo, but I need to run it on a handheld to for what we are doing. It has to be the Navoinics chip because it is the only one with Blackshear in HD. And welcome to the board.

I use the H2O, the black and white version, along with navionics map chip. Works find. I had problems with H2Oc but but that was several years back and all the issues have probably been resolved by the MFG. I like the hand held because I can carry it with me from the front to the back of the boat (I have monunts that I can attach at both ends) and I can carry it with me when fishing out of someone else's boat.

Papa Dawg I would just as soon have the H2O. I don't care about the color. I just need one for the same reasons you are talking about. With the guys I fish with, I never know which boat we will be in.
