Default Slow day at West Point

We fished from 10.30 to 4.30 and kept 21 good crappie, 3 large mouths, and last but not least a striper. The largest crappie was 1.4 and the largest largemouth was 6.0 and the striper was 8.0. You know it was slow when I post anything about bass. The water surface temperature was anywhere from 43 to 45. A slow day on the water is better than sitting in the house.

Did better than me Earl, just being on the water was good stress relief.

Were you at Blachshear? I fished there for the first time on the Saturday of Slabfest and did not catch a fish. The waves were so bad my Minn Kota was out of the water more than it was in.

Yep stayed at Blackshear today, yeah its pretty flat around here and when the wind blows you get the full effect on the water.

Earl, we met on blackshear at the slabfest on the water close to the damn. Glad to see you were on the water. At least you were catching and not just fishing.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.

    Hey Earl,

I'd take a "slow day" like that just about anytime and especially on the coldest day of the year!

Congrats on the slab crappie, bass and striper!

Thanks. The difference yesterday between catching and not catching was staying right over the creek channel. The only way I was able to do it as with my Lowrance 522 and LEI 840 hotspot chip on a split screen split between the lake map and sonar with both on zoom. I would to like go to The Hill sometimes. I have never fished there.
