I first want to say that I am so sorry for not posting this alot earlier. It has taken a few days to get over the Slabfest. I now truly know how much work it takes to make a successful slabfest and I have more respect for Smitty, Birddog, Papasage and Shine Runner. The few businesses that I contacted about door prizes were very receptive. I know there were mistakes maken but definately not intentionally. Of course I would have loved to won the darn thing but hey I had a blast and would have still had fun if I didn't catch a thing. I am not about to mention any names because if I did I would leave out someone so with that being said I want to say that it took ALL of us to make this thing a go. Yes I am planning on the next one at Lake Harding. I want to catch some at "Smitty Land". May GOD bestow HIS mighty blessings upon you all.
thank you Rusty. You did a great job pulling it all together. You had plenty of help from some nice people but the responsibility of near 100 peoples fun and happiness takes a toll on nerves and your body. No one has ever worked any harder or longer on a Slabfest than you did for this one. You maybe tried to hard. I thank you from my heart for your efforts.

"If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles." ~Doug Larson
I second Smitty's comments, we all thank you for everything.
Birddog,
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.
Ragfly You did work too hard on this Slabfest, but when it is all said done
you should be very proud. I really don't think you should have done so much,
but you did it like you wanted to do it, & it was fantastic. I think everyone would be happy just getting together with the other members & fishing, cooking & sharing information is all anybody could expect. I personally don't think you have to have money or prizes to make a fun & enjoyable week-end.
Just good fellowship is what it is all about. You need to be applauded!
Remember the old saying...it takes a village to raise a child. With a village like the members of the Georgia board, I know that these tournaments will not only succeed but get bigger and better.

Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy -- Eskimo legend

Rusty, you put a lot of time and hard work into making the Blackshear fest a big success. I wish I could have put you on some "slabs" haha. We saved them for the next time, right Rusty. You did a great job and we all apprecited everything you did. Thanks.
