Don't let a blowup happen guys...don't do it. You have a GREAT thing going here, maybe some do not realize just how great your thing is here.
So somebody had to do some extra work or didnt put in enough money or whatever....it will all come out in the wash. Next time....just carry around a "tip jar"...."Hey pardner, feed the crow...for food and fixings...ante up what you can". "I need some fish cleaning volunteers..got 6 electric knives here ready to go...who's gonna step up and haul the wood on this".
There are numerous ways to solve this crud without ruining it all.
If many of you recall, it was about a year ago that I came blowing into this site like a hurricane, looking for trouble, saying stupid things, and jumping on people's case like a fool. It got so bad, I even got my original name kicked off the forum (deservedly so, by the way)
And then, in the midst of some serious health troubles I said to myself..."man, you're really being a jackass to those guys. You never even met them and here you are blowing fire and horsedung at them. You gotta' chill out Douglas an re-examine things".
I know some of you remember that. Rusty was the guy I hassled the most..but he never gave up on me as a human being. I managed to hack Smitty off too...and Dennis..and a lot of others. It even got so bad it carried over into the South Carolina forum. An atrocious display of my lack of social graces at the time.
But at Christmas when I squared it all up and said I was sorry...all was washed away and forgotten. Pretty good deal, in my opinion. I deserved to be run out of town on a rail...but everybody just let bygones be bygones.
PLEASE dont let your relationships break down...PLEASE. I havent been to one of the events yet, but I will come to one...and if you need "cleanup boy" or "fish cleaning man" or "snake chaser" or any of those menial tasks...I will do some of it. No bother to me at all...not at all.
This is really a good site and I enjoy talking to some of you on the telephone and posting here very very much. The togetherness seen here is rare in any group...church, masonic lodge, union, or whatever.
Don't let it slip away....just dont do it.

DB I agree, Just let it all go and let it be lessons learned. We cant go through life fighting with each other, It will get us NO WHERE but we can go through life fishing together and thats what we are all here for. We as humans will never like every person we come by, but that doesn't mean we have to hate them either. The last few slabfest have all had some sort of fall out from them, maybe we expect to much from each other? We need to just except each other for who they are like it or not and get back to what we are all here to do-----catch a 3 pounder with a bunch of friends

the two of you are perfect examples of working things out and to see you posting together puts a big smile on my face..

Oh...by the way Keith, I never said this to you publicly but all that woofing I was doing at you last year about your spoons? It was all blue smoke and nothing else. Sorry for being a donkey about it..
What actually happened was I got hung up and broke the things yanking on them too hard. I have some left which I have been using with great success..they're a fine product.
That should clear up those loose ends.
