Thread: Thank you all that made Spring Slabfest a wonderful event.

First let me say that we missed Trumpdriver, jimmyS and TnT. Sorry you couldn't be there but you were surely thought of and missed.
Hard to thank each of you because my little mind can't remember all. Rusty you and Sage were great host. Sage you are one of the reasons Blackshear fest has grown from the beginning. thank you for just being you. Jim Manz I want to thank you for all the hard work you put in to feed people at the campsite. Diamond Jim thank you for bringing your wife and those tomato hushpuppies everyone loves. I regret I was unable to join you all at the dinner. After all, Fat boys love to eat and I missed it. I won't miss another fishfry. I needed to get home tonight and didn't want to travel in the dark. Outlaw thank you for the load of wood that kept everyone warm in the evening and morning. It even cooked the meal for several people with JIm the basket chef. Jamie thanks for your fish cooker and work for the meal Saturday. I saw many acts of kindness this week and I am proud to be friends with such good people. I know i am forgeting someone and am very sorry. I don't mean to leave you out or not acknowlege your efforts. It makes you feel bad when you are omitted and I wouldn't do that to any off you.
Thank you to Ron and Ronnie (shellback and his wife} for driving 15 hours, one way to join us. I pray you had a great time.
Most of all I would like to thank each and everyone of you that came this week. Not as many children and wives but it was bitter cold and windy for 3 days. Again thank you all for supporting Slabfest. Feels good to be part of something that people enjoy.

The only problem we ever have is about Money for the tournament.
Starting with Summer Slabfest May 3, 2008 the Tourney will be for bragging rights only. We can have a $5 per person big fish pool if you want to get in it. Slabfest are for friends and family. Not winning money. We will give out small trophies for 3 places the tourney. Also a trophy for the child 12under that catches the biggest fish so it will cost each of us a few bucks for the trophy cost. Hope to see you all again soon.

Lisa and I had a great time also, Smitty man you missed some good good groceries, not only can Jamie catch a good fish , he cooks a good one, too. And them hushpupies were super good.

Smitty I hate I missed you. I was a little later arriving than I anticipated. I had a great time. It was nice to meet the floks face to face. The family environment was great ; nice to see sportsman than can get together and bring the wife and kids. Looking forwaed to seeing some of the folks soon out on the lakes. Thanks to all who mde the event possible and I hope to fish in one soon.

I had a great time at the Slabfest and want to thank everyone who was involved with its success. Smitty hit the names of most of the people and if anyone was missed it was not intentional. Sorry that I missed the good food that was there but I had a long drive. It was a fun weekend. I was happy to finally meet people in person who I have talked to or seen on here. Now I can put a face with a name. Thanks everyone.

I really want to thank every one of the Crappie.com family for letting my wife,my
friend,& I join in on the food part. My wife really enjoyed going & meeting some fine people. I tried to help a little with the fish cleaning, I was a little rusty with the electric knife since I haven't been fishing in about 10 years, but I promise you all that I'm going to start back fishing again, thanks to Crappie .com. I promise to bring my electric knife next time & stay up with the best. I'm going to
try to get with Smitty & learn how all ya'll catch fish the new modern way. I'm
old & old fashioned. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you just watch this old dog. Ha. Ha. Looking forward to joining you all again soon.

Made it home about 1:30 . Hope all the others made it home safe also . Now that being said I wish to THANK each of you . Standing around listening to those who were so freely giving information on Where to fish ,What you were using, And how to use it ment alot to me and I'm sure also to others. Let me THANK YOU and I"m sure there were other who felt the same. PLUS nice to meet alot of you for the first time.
